One Team, Every Detail: Delivering a Seamless Australasian Conference

purpose.ground was engaged by the WA Histology Group to provide end-to-end conference management for the Australasian Association of Histology and Histotechnology 11th National Conference, held from 11 to 13 September 2026.

Working closely with the organising committee, we provided comprehensive conference management across every stage of the event lifecycle – from strategy, budget and sponsorship through to program development, speaker and abstract management, marketing and communications, registration, accommodation and travel, on-site delivery and post-event evaluation.

The challenge

Balancing ambition with financial discipline

The organising committee was balancing conference planning with demanding research, clinical and teaching responsibilities, creating a need for clear structure, priorities and timelines. At the same time, careful financial management was critical to delivering the conference’s ambitions within budget. Building a strong and sustainable sponsorship program, maximising revenue opportunities and managing expenditure all required close oversight. With sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, suppliers and health sector stakeholders involved, transparent financial management and effective coordination were essential to keeping planning on track while protecting the quality of the delegate experience.

Our approach

Strategic oversight, down to every detail

purpose.ground worked closely with the organising committee to provide clear oversight of priorities, timelines and finances, while taking responsibility for the operational detail that keeps planning moving.

Our team managed budgets and reporting alongside sponsorship strategy, acquisition and exhibitor relationships, ensuring commercial decisions support the conference’s objectives. From branding, websites and registrations to scientific programs, abstracts, speakers, travel, venues and suppliers, every element is carefully coordinated. Detailed planning continues through to on-site delivery and post-event evaluation, providing continuity from the first meeting to final reporting.

The outcome

Strong attendance, stronger financial foundations

Proactive planning, disciplined budget management and a targeted sponsorship strategy have helped the conference reach full delegate capacity while tracking towards a positive financial outcome. Strategic sponsorship and stakeholder engagement also helped secure additional support through Business Events Perth, which recognised the conference’s ability to attract interstate and international delegates.

By identifying opportunities to strengthen its national and international reach, purpose.ground has helped build the commercial position of the conference while supporting the organising committee’s vision – creating strong foundations for a successful event and an exceptional experience for delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors.
