Building connections across multiple States of Australia
The Northern Australian Regional Paediatric Meeting (NARPM) brings together paediatric professionals working across some of Australia’s most remote and geographically dispersed communities. Held in Broome, Western Australia, the 2024 conference united paediatricians, GPs, Aboriginal health workers, nurses, allied health professionals, junior doctors and students from across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.
Designed to strengthen clinical knowledge, encourage collaboration and foster a community of practice, NARPM is a highly valued forum for healthcare professionals dedicated to improving paediatric care across Northern Australia.
On behalf of the Kimberley Paediatric Team, I wish to express our gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with you to deliver the Northern Australian Regional Paediatric Meeting in Broome in October 2024. The organising committee was balancing conference planning with demanding clinical and teaching roles, requiring a proactive and agile approach to keep decisions and planning moving. Coordinating remotely across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland added further complexity, alongside government governance and approval processes.
The conference was also expanding its audience beyond paediatricians for the first time – welcoming GPs, Aboriginal health workers, nurses, allied health professionals, junior doctors and students – with the ambition of building stronger interdisciplinary connections and a community of practice across Northern Australia.

Our team provided the structure and momentum needed to coordinate a conference spanning multiple organisations and jurisdictions. We worked closely with the organising committee to manage governance, timelines and budgets, while maintaining clear communication and keeping decisions moving.
Our team managed every aspect of conference delivery – from branding, registrations, program and abstract management to speakers, sponsors, travel, accommodation and cultural protocols. Detailed planning, proactive stakeholder liaison and careful coordination of venues and suppliers ensured the many moving parts came together seamlessly, from early planning through to on-site delivery.

Behind the scenes, proactive project management, clear communication and meticulous attention to detail enabled the successful delivery of a complex event involving multiple organisations, jurisdictions and stakeholder groups.
